John Cleese
Born on 27th October 1939 in Weston super mare
After starting out in the frost report during the early 1960s along side Ronnie barker and Ronnie corbett he later went on to become the
co founder of Monty python most famous for his roles in their television series Monty pythons flying circus.
His most famous role among the pythons was his role as the civil servant in the sketch the ministry of silly walks or his numerous portrayals of announcers and news reporters within the sketches in the silly walks sketch he performs a very unusual walk for grants in
the ministers office the sketch has become one of the most loved python moments of all time.
In their first film the holy grail john cleese portrayed two of the best loved characters in the film the french taunter who constantly made rude comments to the English ("your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries") the other character he played was the memorable black knight who through the sketch made threats to the soldiers but had all his body parts cut off which left just his head echoing phrases such as "i will have you for that" this was voted number 1 python movie moment of all time.
In their second film the life of brian John cleese portrays the character of Reg the boss of the struggling protest group the PFJ (peoples front of Judea) all through the film he tries to stop the Romans from taking over Jerusalem by petty marches and using the main character brain as their slave. Cleese also plays the centurion in pontious Pilates palace the guard who points out to Pilate that
Brian s fathers name naughtius maximus may be a joke name like sillius soddus or biggus dickus he also plays the host of the stoning
at the beginning of the film who ends up dead after accidentley saying the name Jehovah he becomes the victim of the women throwing stones.
In their final film the meaning of life Cleese has two recognisable roles first as the maitre d in the infamous Mr creosote scene he is the victim of creosotes constant vomiting everywhere yet it does not seem to bother him even when he steps in the sick bucket. he also plays death in the end of the film who takes everybody to heaven after they eat a poison pudding.
Out of Monty python John cleese has enjoyed a very successful career his most famous role out of python was his role as basil fawlty in the television sitcom fawlty towers which ran for three years and co starred his then wife Connie booth prunella scales and Andrew sachs
